Genius English Proficiency Academy continued their culture exchange activity. Where students are able to share and showcase their culture where they are come from. Last Thursday February 11, 2016, Genius English proficiency Academy celebrated the Day of Russian culture. Russian girls put a flower formed like a crown on their head as their tradition for girls and the Russian guy wore the traditional Russian men attire.
Russians shared and presented to everyone their culture. They presented it gradually, from country histories, historical places, tradition and Russian facts.
In the middle of the presentation, they served us chocolate. They said that is it the best chocolate in their country. Hmmm it’s look like super sweet huh? Let me taste it.
Hmmm so far so good,so sweet ! Be it on your first list when you go to Russia. Don’t miss to buy it. Aside from that Russians also prepared games for everyone which is popular in their country.
From left to right : Artu (IT staff), Christian(chile), Martin (spain) played jumping rope in a team.
Also, they introduce to us their traditional summer solstice celebration. Russians has their way in celebrating the summer. You may even ask, How they celebrate it? To explain plainly to our readers, first they put firewood in the center area to the place where it is celebrated and make fire on it, form a circle into it and do dancing. Russians explained and demonstrated it first to everyone; one by one from the audience (students and staffs) came into the center and joined.
Another game played is “horovod” game, where young people boys and girls can meet, get attached with each other and jumping over the fire. Well it’s really fun! Students and staffs were actively participating on the activity. Everyone was lively and witty that day!
They also served us delicious Russian foods for everyone.
Thanks to our Russian students, Miss Tatiana, Russian Marketing manager Miss Natali and Miss Kate for a blast Russian Day!
