We have learned and experienced the Japanese Day at the number one English Proficiency Academy in Cebu, Philippines — the Genius English Proficiency Academy.
It was comprised a lot of discussions related to the country as of the origin, culture, Japanese games, history, geographical location, and country’s amazing achievements.
In the discussion, the Japanese students asked the audience some questions about Japan, the one who can answer the question will be given a reward (chocolate).
Striking the watermelon by the baseball bat of a blindfolded person was one of the games that was conducted on that night. The striker will turn around on the baseball bat about 15 times. After that, people will tell the location of the watermelon and will the blindfolded person will strike the fruit.
– Japanese trains are possibly the world’s most punctual. The average delay on the Tokaido Shinkansen in 2012 was only 36 seconds.
– Japan is one of the safest and least violent country in the world, along with Iceland. The country has as few as two gun-related homicides a year.
– The world’s largest fish market is the Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo.
– 10% of the world’s volcanoes are in Japan. Among them, 108 have erupted in the last 10,000 years, 50 in the last 100 years, and 36 are currently active.
