It was done, but so nice to remember it again. The Genius English Proficiency Academy celebrated the Russian Day last June 21, 2017. It was celebrated by our students in different countries, teachers, staff, and our general manager (Ms. Tatiana Sergeeva).
The Russians explained their beautiful culture, especially the facts regarding the rumors about Russia. They also sang Russian songs and the Russian kids presented a very nice story with cute masks.
There were many games that were played by the students, staff, and teachers with chocolates as rewards for all the winners. They played the “jumping rope” and also something like “pulling rope game” which were very fun to play. You could remember your childhood. As part of their beliefs, Russians believe that jumping over the firing wood can drive away the bad spirits.
– The word “vodka” comes from the Russian word “voda” that means “water”.
– There are over 500,000 alcohol-related deaths in Russia each year. Foxes are domesticated like dogs by Russian scientists since 1959.
– There’s a museum in Russia that hires cats to protect its artworks against rodents.
– In Russia, there’s a “Temple of all Religions” which serves as a peaceful combination of different cultures.
The Russian students and Miss Tatiana answered all the questions regarding their country either about destinations or culture. They also showed a video regarding the famous celebrities and scientists in Russia.
After having fun with the games, Russians prepared some Russian food for all students, teachers, and staff. Moreover, the food were delicious and very colorful.
Thank you for your effort guys especially to all Russians! Happy Russian Day! 🙂
