The English language is very important wherever you are in this world. The said language is what Americans used to. This time, the Genius English Proficiency Academy celebrated the first ever American Day on November 15, 2017.
It was hosted by our native teacher (teacher Lucas), who is from the United States of America. He presented and explained the culture, history, geographical location, economics, politics, tourists destinations, and much more about the United States of America.
After the discussion, teacher Lucas prepared some games for the audience who are the teachers and students from different countries like Japan, Mongolia, France, Spain, Taiwan, China, Saudi Arabia, etc. Everyone looked so funny especially in the game that was like an “eating a hanging donut game.” Every participant of the game had prizes.
Trivia:
– George Washington was the first U.S. President.
– The United States declared independence on July 4, 1776, which will make it 236 years old.
– Washington D.C. is the capital of the U.S.A.
– The United States is a constitution based federal republic.
– The population of the U.S.A was approximately 323.1 million as of 2016.
– The Statue of Liberty was a gift to the United States from the people of France to commemorate 100 years of Franco-American friendship as well as the centennial of America’s independence. The statue is formally known as “Liberty Enlightening the World.” It was sculpted by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi.
– The U.S. flag has 13 red and white stripes, symbolizing the original 13 colonies. The 50 white stars on a blue background in the upper left corner represent the number of states in the union.
Although the U.S is a very well-known country in the world, there is a lot of information that people have never known before.
